Semi-Annual HOA Board Meeting
November 7th,
7:00pm, Denton South Public Library

Its that time of year again for the RobinsonOaks HOA to hold open elections for new Board members. We will also review the 1) minutes of the last meeting 2) current list of the most pressing issues affecting the neighborhood, 3) the financial status of the HOA and allow for open discussion.

We believe the single-most important issue to the continued success of the HOA is the election of new Board members. During the meeting, we would also like to answer any questions regarding the specific duties and time commitment assigned to a Board position.

Our residents each have unique professional backgrounds and skills to bring to the table in the HOA. However, we fully recognize that each of us also has time commitments with work and home that may preclude people from participating. Thankfully, the HOA Board member can make that decision of how much and how little of time they can commit. The minimum commitment may be as small as 1 hour per week. Please take a moment to see some of the potential benefits of becoming an HOA Board member:

1. A chance to create and implement YOUR solutions to improving the status of YOUR investment in the neighborhood.

2. A chance to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of all operational areas within the HOA.

3. A chance to build resume skills such as public relations, financial, website management, communications, horticulture and project management.

4. A chance to promote civility and collaboration among board members and homeowners.

5. A chance to ensure that Board decisions are congruent with the interests of the community.

The Semi-Annual Meeting of the Robinson Oaks Homeowners Association will be held on Monday, Novemeber 7, 2011 @ 7:00 pm at Denton South Public Library located at 3228 Teasley Lane, Denton . Sign-In will begin at 6:30pm and the meeting will begin at 7:00pm. Many of these activities require permits from the City of Denton. You can see a list of modifications that do and don’t require permits in this document:

Pool Security updates

Brian February 11th, 2010

The HOA has invested in some additional security at the pool which will impact all residents when the pool opens in the spring.

1. After the pool closed for winter, a new card based access system was installed on the gate. Instead of entering a code on the door, each home will be issued electronic access cards which will open the gate simply by waving them over the card reader on the gate. This will help us better control access, reducing use by non-residents, and letting us know who was using the pool if anything is damaged. Residents must be current on their dues to receive access cards, and cards will be distributed before the pool opens in the Spring.

2. In addition to the access system, 3 remotely monitored and motion-activated cameras have been installed around the pavilion to monitor the pool and playground areas. Our hope is that this will discourage vandalism and unauthorized after-hours use.

3. Lastly, we have extended the height of the western pool fence to discourage fence-hopping.

Winter Wall Upgrades

Brian February 11th, 2010

Some residents may have noticed that we have recently installed bricks along the bottom of the wall facing Robinson. We’ve invested in this improvement to try and extend the life of the wall and avoid the sagging and breaking problems that the unsupported walls around Oakmont have suffered, which required costly rebuilding.
