Mark your calendars now for the evening of August 8 (the original August 1 date was postponed for weather) for a neighborhood block party to be held in the pool parking lot. We’ll be getting started at about 4pm, and will be grilling burgers and hot dogs. We’ll also be providing drinks, music, and treats for the kids. Bring a side dish or desert, or don’t, we don’t really care so long as you come.
We do recommend bringing folding chairs and swimsuits! We’d also like volunteers for any of the following items: A boombox/radio, portable pavilion, trash & recycle bins, and pool toys. If you can provide any of these items please email Jac at jcrespo@principal-mgmt.com.
If you have any questions or suggestions you can email Jac or Cheryl Kirven.

The Robinson Oaks HOA Board of Directors has hired a new landscaping company to maintain the common areas of Robinson Oaks (Subias Landscaping) and they have offered the Robinson Oaks homeowners a special deal for all those who wish to participate. They will mow front and back yards as well as edge and weed eat for only $19.95 plus tax per visit if fifteen (15) or more homeowners sign up to participate. If less than fifteen (15) homeowners sign up then it will be $30.00 plus tax per visit. Please contact me by email at jcrespo@principal-mgmt.com or by phone at (817) 451-7300 ext. 203 to sign up if you are interested.

As many residents are already aware, the land to the East of Robinson Oaks is the future FM 2499 road that is ultimately intended to be an alternative route south across Lake Lewisville to I-35. Oakmont II (on the other side of FM 2499 from Robinson Oaks) has shared some information about the project which we want to bring to the attention of our residents.

I have been asked to respond to your inquiry concerning proposed construction of FM 2499 in Denton.
FM 2499 will be along a north/ south alignment just to the east of Miramar and west of the cul-de-sac on Marquette. This portion of FM 2499 is referred to as Section Five. The proposed project will construct a six lane divided urban roadway with a raised median from FM 2181 to IH 35E. . A urban section is described as a curb and gutter with a storm sewer system.
The proposed crossing of FM 2181 will occur at Barrel Strap Lane. Which is just east of the Denton/ Corinth city limit line. (Mapsco: Denton 84Q, Fort Worth 448Q) Between Old Alton Road and Oakmont. The intersect at IH 35E will be at Mayhill/ State School Road. (Mapsco: Denton 69U, Fort Worth
348U) .The project has been tentatively scheduled to open bids from contractor’s in February 2011. Construction usually begins about two months later and I estimate construction would take approximately eighteen to twenty four months.
FM 2499 will continue southward with several other projects.
1. Section 4: construct a four lane divided urban roadway with a raised median from FM 407 to FM 2181. Open bids September 2007. Three to four years to build (bridges crossing the lake).
2. Section 3: construct a six lane divided urban roadway with a raised
median from FM 1171 to FM 407. Open bids July 2007. Twenty four months to
build.
3. Section 2: add fifth and sixth lane from Spinks to FM 1171. Estimated completion date December 2007.The project schematic’s showing the proposed alignments is available at www.keepitmovingdallas.com. The subject roadway is located in the FM 2499 section. The files are PDF’s and some are large. Copies of the schematics are also available at our office, address listed below.
