Its that time of year again for the RobinsonOaks HOA to hold open elections for new Board members. We will also review the 1) minutes of the last meeting 2) current list of the most pressing issues affecting the neighborhood, 3) the financial status of the HOA and allow for open discussion.
Continued Success!!
We believe the single-most important issue to the continued success of the HOA is the election of new Board members. During the meeting, we would also like to answer any questions regarding the specific duties and time commitment assigned to a Board position.
Our residents each have unique professional backgrounds and skills to bring to the table in the HOA. However, we fully recognize that each of us also has time commitments with work and home that may preclude people from participating. Thankfully, the HOA Board member can make that decision of how much and how little of time they can commit. The minimum commitment may be as small as 1 hour per week. Please take a moment to see some of the potential benefits of becoming an HOA Board member:
- A chance to create and implement YOUR solutions to improving the status of YOUR investment in the neighborhood.
- A chance to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of all operational areas within the HOA.
- A chance to build resume skills such as public relations, financial, website management, communications, horticulture and project management.
- A chance to promote civility and collaboration among board members and homeowners.
- A chance to ensure that Board decisions are congruent with the interests of the community.
The Semi-Annual Meeting of the Robinson Oaks Homeowners Association will be held on Thursday, October 22 2009 @ 7:30 pm at The Oakmont Country Club located at 1901 Oakmont Drive. Sign-In will begin at 7:00pm and the meeting will begin at 7:30pm. In order to be sure of a quorum [30%], please sign and date the Proxy you received in the mail and return it by fax (817-654-1717), email, or mail to Principal Management Group even if you plan to attend.
Sincerely,
Robinson Oaks Homeowners Association

Mark your calendars now for the evening of August 8 (the original August 1 date was postponed for weather) for a neighborhood block party to be held in the pool parking lot. We’ll be getting started at about 4pm, and will be grilling burgers and hot dogs. We’ll also be providing drinks, music, and treats for the kids. Bring a side dish or desert, or don’t, we don’t really care so long as you come.
We do recommend bringing folding chairs and swimsuits! We’d also like volunteers for any of the following items: A boombox/radio, portable pavilion, trash & recycle bins, and pool toys. If you can provide any of these items please email Jac at jcrespo@principal-mgmt.com.
If you have any questions or suggestions you can email Jac or Cheryl Kirven.

You’ve asked for it, so we’re planning it. Mark your calendars for April 11 4 to set out the card tables and do some spring cleaning with our neighborhood garage sale.
Details
- Date: Saturday, April 4, 2009
- Hours- 8:00am-3:00pm
- Goodwill Pickup: 3:00pm
Items that can be sold
“Personal Property” does not include property that has been consigned to, or acquired by for the purpose of resale.
The personal property for sale shall be set out for display in any open garage, yard, or patio—it must not block a public thoroughfare!
Reasons to have a neighborhood garage sale:
- To promote harmony and strengthen the bond of our neighborhood.
- It is a good way to make money out of items that you and your neighbors may not have any use for.
- It is a good way to get organized.
- People may want to give proceeds to a charity [ie. Goodwill or Salvation Army] or may want to barter for items among neighbors.
- A significant amount of noise is generated at garage sales. Having one garage sale for the year [ideally] reduces this to one day.
- Individuals are conducting numerous garage sales at the same location.
Reminders:
- Have a lot of cash on hand.
- Start marking your items with prices at least two nights before the scheduled garage sale. Also, get your final set up ready by the crack of dawn. This way, you can start selling your items to the “early birds.”
